Dr. Chima Matthew and The Autumn SistersEmergency room physician, Dr. Chima Matthew was treating Autumn Moses for strep throat at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, when he sensed that her two young sisters were feeling worried.

Most doctors would have ignored her siblings’ distress—after all, emergency rooms are busy places. But Matthew isn’t like most doctors. Instead of brushing them off, he decided to lighten the mood by putting on some music. Then, right there in the exam room, he invited them to dance with him.

"That two minutes out of his life made a lasting impression on ours," their mother, who caught it all on camera, noted.

Her video of the adorable dance party, which was shared on Wolfson Children’s Hospital’s Facebook page, has since gone viral. To date, more than 10 million people have viewed the touching moment between Matthew and the Moses girls.

For Matthew, interactions like this one are what he loves most about medicine.

“I’ve gone to a bunch of funerals for my kids and some people tell me, 'Chima, you get too close you know, don’t let your heart get in it.’ I am ready to walk away from medicine the day my heart is not in it,” he recently told Action News Jax.
