Samuel Etoo FilsSamuel Eto'o Fils born 10 March 1981 to John Okwa, A Nigerian father of Igbo decent from Amasiri, Amuro in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State Nigeria and a Cameroonian mother. Little is known by many of the original nationality of the globally respected goal poacher who has played as a striker for notable soccer clubs worldwide but much is known of his unrivalled exploits in the soccer fields around the world.

He was the former Captain of the Cameroon national team, the most decorated African player of all time having won the African Player of the Year award a record four times: in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2010. He also finished third in the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2005.

His Nigerian uncle disclosed the unknown fact that Mr. Eto was actually born of a Nigerian in an exclusive interview granted to the Media in Nigeria of which Mr. Eto did not refute.

Though Etoo has since gone ahead to play and captain the Cameroonian National Team, It is a thing of pride amongst Nigerians to know that ‘Mazi Samuel Okwa’ has 9ja blood flowing in his veins.
